Eco School

Abbey Primary prides itself on being an Eco friendly school. We have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag award 5 times and will continue to sustain the Eco Ethos within the school.

Within our school, Primary 2 and Primary 3 pupils have the opportunity to become an 'Eco Buddy'. They are responsible for turning of the lights, interactive whiteboards and ensuring everyone is recycling correctly. Primary 4 - Primary 7 pupils are nominated by their class to be a representative on our school Eco Committee. Eco Committee meets with Mrs Woodrow each term to put forward their ideas on how to make our school more eco-friendly!

We are very lucky to have such amazing outdoor spaces in Abbey! We have a great Eco Garden, named "The Enchanted Woods". On our bank we have a large poly-tunnel, we can grow our own fruit and vegetables in here. There are lots of playgrounds and an outdoor classroom, allowing us to take our learning outside!

If you think you could support our outdoor space development, please let our teachers know! We really appreciate all the help to make our outdoor spaces accessible and useful for each class in our school!
